Kamala Harris Corruption; Got First Gov. Job Through Willie Brown Affair

Within a week of Kamala Harris officially announcing her candidacy for president in the 2020 election, a shocking admission of corruption has emerged, which may have given her the big break into politics she was after.

Starting off the revealing op-ed, former San Fransico mayor, and former speaker of the California Assembly, Willie Brown, who held public office from 1964 to 2004, wrote “yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago. Yes, I may have influenced her career by appointing her to two state commissions when I was Assembly speaker.” This is a clear admission of guilt and abuse of power that should not be swept under the rug.

His piece takes a nonchalant approach to what the San Francisco Weekly described in 2003 as “two patronage positions in state government that paid handsomely — more than $400,000 over five years.” The positions include a seat on the Unemployment Insurance Appeals Board in 1994. Brown then put her on the California Medical Assistance Commission until 1998, which paid a yearly salary of $99,000 for two monthly meetings.

After admitting her aided her political career because they dated, while he was married, Brown concluded his piece by saying “that’s politics for ya.”

At the time of the affair, in the early ’90s, Harris would have been in her early 30’s with Brown in his early 60’s. Some may argue it was an affair of the heart, but how many ambitious 30-year-old women go after politically power 60-year-old men with no hopes of a little quid pro quo. The gross age gap, plus the immediate near 6 figure government salary, along with Brown’s confession are evidence that this was an act of corruption.
